The Airborne International Response Team (AIRT), a Miami-based 501(c) non-profit organization that provides public safety and disaster response support capabilities with drone technology, today announced that it has received a grant from the Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions.

The DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety Alliance – a 501(c)3 non-profit program of AIRT, Inc. – and the Commercial Drone Alliance, an independent 501(c)6 organization working to collectively merge policy with innovation in the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry – today announced a partnership to assist public safety UAS programs in implementing UAS technologies to yield lifesaving benefits.

AIRT (Airborne International Response Team), a Florida 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has announced it will rebrand its public safety-related conference programing under their new DRONERESPONDERS brand as the organization retires the UAS DRONES Disaster Conference series effectively immediately.

AIRT launches DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety Alliance to Unite First Responders and Key Stakeholders for UAS Operations. New AIRT program is led by Chief Charles Werner (ret.), a nationally-recognized expert in the use of unmanned aircraft systems by public safety and emergency response agencies.

The Airborne International Response Team (AIRT), a Florida-registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, has teamed up with Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI), a global leader in mission-critical communications, to present the 2019 UAS DRONES Disaster Conference (UASDISCON) at Florida International University (FIU) on April 11-12, 2019.

The inaugural UAS DRONES Disaster Conference (UASDISCON) Los Angeles is scheduled for the Columbia Memorial Space Center from March 7-8, 2019. The event will feature keynote speakers with vast expertise in using unmanned systems for fire rescue, emergency management, and public safety. Fire Chief Charles Werner (Ret.), Chairman of the National Council on Public Safety UAS, will kick off UASDISCON on Thursday, March 7, followed by Fire Chief Harold Schapelhouman of the Menlo Park Fire Protection District in California, presenting on Friday, March 8.

The UAS DRONES Disaster Conference | Los Angeles will mark the second edition of the landmark conference series launched earlier this year at Florida International University in Miami. Operated under the UAS DRONES brand, the conference will unite leaders, experts, and UAS operators across government, industry, and academia for two-days of presentations, workshops, and live flight demonstrations of the latest UAS technology for public safety.

Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) – also known as “drones” – are beginning to reshape the way public safety officials and emergency managers tackle disasters, and a new educational conference will help frame the discussion around this amazing new technology. The UAS/Drones for Disaster Response conference will be held at the Biscayne Bay Campus of Florida International University from April 19-20 to help key stakeholders charged with responding to disasters better understand the role that UAS and other unmanned systems can play.
